JEFE
ART & DESIGN
Jefe is an American abstract expressionist artist who works in
acrylic and oil on canvas.
“I work to tell evocative stories about the unique connections and interactions between matter, energy and our living world. My artworks include tension, conflict and resolution. I’m passionate about experimenting with medium and technique to communicate these narratives and ideas. I’m currently developing a new style I call Vibratism that utilizes vibration waveforms. Vibratism will explore and expose the hidden vibrance, brilliance and fluidity present in light, sound and kinetic waves that are pervasive in our natural world, and essential for our sensory experiences of sight, hearing and touch."
Jefe draws inspiration from Jackson Pollock’s fluid abstract expressionism and Vincent van Gogh’s vibrant impasto impressionism.
Jefe is a graduate of UCLA. He enjoyed a career in advertising, design and branding, where he held positions as Senior Copywriter, Name Developer, Creative Strategist, Director of Concept Development, and Brand Consultant. Prior, his diverse work experience included positions in music, radio, high technology and carpentry. Jefe works from his studio on Lake Tahoe in the California High Sierra.
